The Parkinson Center consists of the following units:

The Parkinson Center in Leun-Biskirchen (Hessen) was founded in 1995 to enable patients with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders to receive holistic, multimodal treatment in a pleasant atmosphere. Behind the leitmotif "humanity and medicine" lies the effort not only to focus on the disease in isolation, but to look at the human being as a whole.

The Gertrudis-Klinik Biskirchen is a privately owned neurological specialist hospital specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease and related diseases and has 120 beds. As a recognized acute clinic, we have contracts with all statutory health insurance companies. Those with statutory health insurance, like those with private health insurance, only need a referral from their general practitioner for inpatient admission.

The Gertrudis Private Clinic was founded in 2002 because of the high demand for beds. It can treat privately insured people, those entitled to benefits and self-payers and has 21 beds.

Both clinics in the Parkinson Center offer optimal care for the following diseases:

  • Primary Parkinson's Syndrome
  • Secondary Parkinson's Syndromes
  • Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP)
  • Parkinson's Type Multiple System Atrophy (MSA-P)
  • Cerebellar Type Multiple System Atrophy (MSA-C)
  • Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD)
  • Lewy Body Disease (LBD)
  • Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS)
  • Essential Tremor
  • Choreatic and dystonic movement disorders

State-of-the-art diagnostics and therapy: Despite the hotel character of our acute clinics, there is no lack of facilities that enable specialized high-performance medicine. In addition to the most modern diagnostic methods and drug therapies, we work closely with surrounding clinics and university clinics. In addition, we offer our patients a multimodal complex therapy that includes the whole person. This includes physiotherapy and physical therapy, speech therapy and swallowing training, occupational and creative therapy or the treatment of concomitant diseases, escalation therapy with medication pumps, indication for deep brain stimulation, advice and training for patients and relatives complete our offer.

The Parkinson Special Ambulance clinic is aimed at patients with suspected or confirmed diagnosis of Parkinson's disease or other extrapyramidal motor diseases (including dystonia, multiple system atrophy).

In patients in the early stages of the disease, a differentiated initial treatment with medication and additional therapeutic procedures are initiated. For those affected in the advanced course of the disease, therapy is optimized on an outpatient basis or, if necessary and desired, inpatient treatment is initiated.

The outpatient consultation hours are aimed equally at health insurance and private patients. Statutory health insurance patients must present a referral from the neurologist treated.

Treatment is only possible by prior appointment by calling +49-6473-305-8011.
